FAQ

No, the anti-tampering function doesn’t need any additional sensors. The device has a 3D accelerometer which is extremely sensitive.

You can activate and deactivate the anti-tampering function in the App.

Once activated, Greenbox will trigger a notification when the device detects any movement (such as a tampering attempt). But be aware that if you leave this function on (recommended) you’ll receive an anti-tampering notification each time you enter your car.

Yes, thieves are aware of GPS devices. They can bypass GPS device protection by using external devices called "Jammers". A Jammer's job is to scramble GPS and GSM signals, so that the anti-theft device won’t be able to send you it’s position.

Greenbox can deal with Jammers by immediately recognizing a jamming attack. In this scenario, Greenbox will warn you with a notification before it’s too late (as soon as a jamming attack is detected).

If you have Greenbox's Remote Kill Switch function installed (it prevents the car engine to be started), Greenbox will automatically activate a scenario in which, as soon as a jamming attack is detected, the starter will be shut down so that nobody can start the vehicle.

But we don’t recommend this installation for 2 reasons:

  1. It's an invasive installation that could invalidate your vehicle's warranty.
  2. A pro thief will become aware that “something” is preventing the engine starter to work. The thief could then find the anti-theft device by reverse engineering it's installation spot.

Jammers require a lot of energy to work effectively. The most common portable jammers will run out of power in less than 1h. The best practice is to let the thief get away with the vehicle without him suspecting that an anti-theft GNSS device has been discretely installed inside the vehicle.

Once the jammer will be out of power, the device will send its position which will allow you to call the police and provide the exact location of the vehicle for its recovery.

No, it’s impossible. These devices are like cell phones. Under normal circumstances (if you live in an area where other people live in a radius of 500/600 feet), such devices will detect the signals of thousands of cell phones.

If you have Greenbox' s anti-tampering protection activated, then yes. But be aware, unless you deactivate the anti-tampering functionality, you too will trigger the anti-tampering alarm each time you open your car.

Absolutely not! The device's power consumption is relatively high when your car is in motion. In this case, the nominal consumption of 35mAH is irrelevant, since your vehicle's battery is powered by the vehicle alternator.

When the engine is off, the device automatically goes into a state called “online deep sleep”. In this state the device consumes 6mAh from your vehicle's battery. It could take a couple of months of inactivity to drain the battery completely.

If you plan to not use your car for long periods of time (months), then you can activate Greenbox’ s "Garage Function", thanks to which the energy consumption of the device is 2mHa (less than a led light).

Unlike 99% of GPS devices on the market (which only drain your vehicle's battery), Greenbox will protect your car battery by continuously checking its health condition. Greenbox will warn you if the car battery is running out, before you'll be unable to start the engine again.

The only issue that should concern you is how much energy is absorbed from your car battery. Since Greenbox ’s absorption is extremely low (from 2mHa to 6mHa, less that than a led light), there is absolutely no risk that our device will drain your car battery, even if another GPS device is installed in your car.

If you’re thinking about invalidating the vehicle's warranty, then there will be no risk at all as Greenbox does not interfere in any way with the vehicle's electronics. You’ll only need to hook up 2 wires (to power the unit), or even directly to the top of the battery. It’s kind of like charging your phone from your car's USB port.

In short, the answer to this question is - yes. You can install this device in any rental or leased car, unless in the leasing terms and conditions it is specifically stated that you shouldn’t do so.

In the event of a theft or a tampering attempt, you’ll be able to call the police and provide your vehicle’s position in real-time. By doing that, the police will be forced to follow the car and catch the thief. In most countries if the police refuses to follow a stolen vehicle for which you can provide a real-time position, it is considered as “official inaction” and thus a crime. Additionally, when you’re able to provide the current location of your vehicle, the police is motivated by the high chance of catching the thief!

Folks, I’ve seen this a million times. If you have a Ferrari and report a theft to the police, they won’t give a damn! They’ll just file your report, and nobody will ever go and search for your car.

On the other hand, if you have a crappy car, but you can provide its real-time location, you’ll see that the police will react immediately, because they’ll be motivated by the high chance of catching the thief.

Thanks to Greenbox, you’ll be able to enjoy your life as you deserve. The anxiety and fear of theft will be forever gone. This doesn’t mean that thieves aren’t going to try steal from you, but it means that if that happens, you’ll know it right away, and you’ll be able to act fast.

It depends on what you define as "similar". You see, if you need a smartphone you can get one for as cheap as 20 bucks, or as expensive as $2000. You can use both for making phone calls. If you view these as similar, then yes, there are similar products on the market.

You can get a GPS tracker on Amazon for $10, as long as you’re aware of a couple of facts:

  1. You are trusting a cheap device to protect your car.
  2. Most cheap GPS trackers are still using a chipset called “Sirf Star III”, since 1995! You need to understand that your device is going to respond as a computer would with a 1995 chipset (working slowly, lagging, loads of crashes, crappy performance).
  3. You won’t have any App, no assistance, you’ll have to deal with complex configurations by yourself and you’ll have to invest in your own SIM card.

If you’re ok with these 3 things, go ahead and buy a $10 device, we wouldn’t want you as a customer.

We think that our solution, besides being the most performing out of those that we’re aware of, is also the cheaper one among “similar” solutions.

The device you’ll get, which comes with a latest 9th Generation GNSS Chipset, passed over 100 quality checkpoints before it makes it out of the factory. The performance is outstanding and not like anything else you could find even at twice the price!

You’ll get an App with technologies that our competitors define as “impossible”. You get access to a company that is trusted by top car manufacturers. You'll benefit of Greenbox unique functionalities and precision that you’ll never get if you buy a cheap device. Our customers (over 55.000 worldwide) know very well that we overdeliver in post-sale care and post-guarantee support.

Absolutely not. The services that we offer requires a complex IT system that cannot be offered for free. Besides, even if you buy a “do it yourself” device, you’ll still have to pay for the Sim card and its data, every month (very much like a subscription).

Frankly speaking, our solution is like no other! We have many unique and one-of-a-kind technologies for protecting you and your car (such as our VCDR or GDS) that you can’t get anywhere else.

We know that the price for our subscription is higher than some of our competitors, but they don’t do what we do… Actually, they say that what we do is impossible, yet we do it every day.

There are two plans:

  1. 1 Year Plan. This is the best deal because you get the device for free (instead of $179.00). You'll only pay $360.00 for 1 full year of Greenbox ($30.00 per 12 months). After 1 Year (and only if you wish to do so), you can renew for $30.00 a month.
  2. 1 Month Plan. You can get Greenbox for as low as $209.00. This includes the device ($179.00) ad the first month of service ($30.00). You'll be paying your Greenbox at your own peace, $30.00 per month, starting from 30 days after the activation.

You're free to cancel your plan at anytime. There'll be no penalties nor obbligations to stick around!

Yes. You need at least one device for each vehicle that you want to protect. You’ll be able to manage all of the devices from the same App account. That means that if you have 3 cars, you’ll see them all on the map at the same time. You’ll become the fleet manager of your own vehicle fleet!

It’s very simple! When you get your device or devices, you have 30 days from the activation day (you activate a device from our App) for testing our solution. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with it, we will give you your money back!

There will be no questions or any hard feelings. We won’t even ask you why you’re not happy, it could be anything, maybe you just didn’t like the color of the App, anything.

All you’ll have to do is send an email to this address with the line: “My dog ate it!”.

We will refund you every cent and we'll send you $50,00 by Paypal so that your experience with us will always be profitable for you!

Yes, once you buy the device, it becomes your personal device. You can remove it and dispose of it at your own will. You’ll never have to ask permission or notify us about what you’ll do with your device!

Of course! Just unplug it from the old car and re-hook it into the new one. You won’t even have to tell us about it. The device is your's and you can use it on any vehicle you like.

No, no penalties, no hard feelings. You don’t have any obligation to us. You can cancel your subscription at any time, by yourself, with a click of a button.

Yes, you can! Anybody can. In this video you’ll see a girl (that has never driven a car before and who doesn't have a driver's license) installing a device in less than 2 minutes. But frankly, this kind of installation is not going to be the best type of installation to protect your car from theft.

Most people install these kinds of devices on the top of the car battery, I know it, you probably know it and thieves certainly know it too…

During the masterclass, we'll cover the best spots for installing the device, which could really be any place in the vehicle where the device stays hidden and discrete. No matter the installation spot, you’ll still need to connect just 2 wires.

GNSS is kind of like GPS, but better! "GNSS" stands for "Global Navigation Satellite System". The new GNSS processors allow the device to work faster and be a lot more precise than GPS.

GPS devices use the GPS satellite constellation for pinpointing their own position. There are 24 GPS satellites in total orbiting the globe. This is why a GPS device can get signals from only 12 satellites for each hemisphere.

You might have noticed that your GPS car navigation system can only connect to a maximum of 7 to 9 satellites at one time when you’re in the countryside and far from cities with tall buildings (we call cities like thos "urban canyons"). In crowded cities with tall buildings and skyscrapers, GPS sometimes loses it's signal and it's precision is poor.

GNSS, uses multiple constellations of satellites, including GPS. Our device uses:

  • GPS
  • GLONASS
  • GALILEO
  • BEIDU

These are all constellations of positioning satellites like GPS

Having a far greater number of satellites above our heads, allows the device to be a lot more precise than just GPS.

Of course! You can install it in any vehicle that is powered from 10V to 30V. That means literally anything: cars, motorcycles, electric bikes, trucks, boats, quads… you name it!
